WWPI Lead Instructor Vicky Selkowe

The Wisconsin Women's Network is thrilled to welcome Vicky Selkowe as our Lead Instructor for the 2015-2016 Women's Policy Institute. Since 1998, Vicky has been a fierce, strategic, determined, and passionate advocate for Wisconsin's low-income families and children. She has also worked as a public interest attorney, providing free legal services to low-income Dane County workers. As well, for nearly six years, Vicky served as Chief of Staff to a legislator on Wisconsin's budget committee. She has extensive experience with a wide array of policy issues, the legislative process, media, grassroots and grasstops organizing, coalition building, and lobbying. Vicky is currently the legislative director and lobbyist for a statewide nonprofit law firm that provides free legal services to Wisconsin's poorest residents.

I am tremendously excited about joining the Institute’s team. Perhaps now more than ever, we need women leaders in Wisconsin who have the confidence, substantive knowledge, and policy know-how to effectively, strategically, and successfully advocate on issues affecting women throughout our state. I’m delighted to be part of this work, and look forward to helping the Institute’s fellows gain the skills they need to transform their communities and our state.
