The Wisconsin Women's Policy Institute trains women to become advocates in their communities and to navigate Wisconsin's legislative and administrative rules processes in order to advance legislation and improve the lives of women and girls in Wisconsin.
For our 2015-16 Institute, the Wisconsin Women's Network will recruit up to 12 women to be organized into teams; these teams, paired with a Mentor, will research and draft legislation on a topic of their choosing. Training will take place over the course of four months at day-long retreats held in Madison. The schedule is as follows:
August 26th, 2015: Half-day retreat, followed by networking at the WWN Women's Equality Day Celebration
October 16 & 17, 2015: Two full days of training
December 11 & 12, 2015: Two full days of training
January 22 & 23, 2016: Two full days of training
March 18 & 19, 2016: Two full days of training
